To become a massage therapist in Rhode Island, you must obtain a massage therapist license from the Rhode Island Board of Massage Therapists. This license is required to practice massage therapy and needs to be renewed every year. To apply for a license, you must:

  • Complete 650 hours of massage therapy education
  • Complete CPR and first aid certification
  • Pass the MBLEx
  • Submit application
  • Have official transcripts and exam scores sent directly to the board
  • Pass a background check
  • Pay the application fee
