How to Become a Massage Therapist in Kentucky
To become a massage therapist in Kentucky, you must obtain a massage therapist license from the Kentucky Board of Licensure of Massage Therapy. This license is required to practice massage therapy and needs to be renewed every two years. To apply for a license, you must:
- Complete 600 hours of massage therapy education
- Pass the MBLEx, NCBTMB exam, FSMTB exam, NCAA exam, NBCA exam, State of Ohio Massage Therapy Licensing Exam, or State of New York Massage Therapy Licensing Exam*
- Submit a notarized application
- Submit official transcripts and official exam scores
- Pass a background check
- Pay the application fee
