How to Become a Massage Therapist in Alaska
To become a massage therapist in Alaska, you must obtain a massage therapist license from the Alaska Board of Massage Therapists. This license is required to practice massage therapy and needs to be renewed every two years. To apply for a license, you must:
- Complete 625 hours of massage therapy education
- Complete 2 hours of safety education in bloodborne pathogens and universal precautions
- Complete CPR certification
- Pass the MBLEx or NCBTMB exam
- Pass a background check
- Submit an application
- Pay the application fee
