New Hampshire Beauty License Guidelines
To offer beauty services in New Hampshire, you must obtain a license from the New Hampshire Board of Barbering, Cosmetology and Esthetics. Be sure to check for the most up-to-date guidelines when you’re applying for a license. These are the main steps to become licensed:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have completed high school or the equivalent.
- For cosmetology: complete 1,500 hours of training at a state-approved cosmetology school or 3,000 hours of apprenticeship training.
- For esthetics: complete 600 hours of training at a state-approved esthetician school or 1,200 hours of apprenticeship training.
- Pass the NIC (National-Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology) written and practical exams.
- Mail your application, official transcripts, proof of passing scores, and payment to the board.
Your application will be processed within 10-14 days of submission.
