Delaware Beauty License Guidelines
To offer beauty services in Delaware, you must obtain a license from the Delaware Board of Cosmetology and Barbering. Be sure to check for the most up-to-date guidelines when you’re applying for a license. These are the main steps to become licensed:
- Be at least 16 years old.
- Have completed tenth grade or the equivalent.
- For cosmetology: complete 1,500 hours of training at a state-approved cosmetology school.
- For aesthetics: complete 600 hours of training at a state-approved skincare school.
- Apply online to take your exams through Prometric.
- Have your high school transcript sent directly to Prometric.
- Pay the required fees.
- Pass the NIC (National-Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology) written and practical exams.
